Disastrous Start For Austria

Bordeaux

Marko Arnautovic’s Austria fell to a 2-0 defeat tonight.

The well fancied Austrians failed to slip into top gear against a well organised Hungary.

Arnautovic showed some good glimpses during the first half- including a delicious flick that resulted in a glorious chance for Austria to take the lead.

But the match turned around the hour mark.

Adam Szalai put the Hungarians ahead, before Aleksandar Dragovic was harshly sent off for Austria.

Zoltan Steiber sealed victory for the underdogs with an excellent finish, although there was still time for Arnautovic to test Gabor Kiraly with a shot from a well worked free-kick.

The pressure is now on Austria to beat Group F favourites Portugal on Saturday in Paris.
