Geoff Cameron has recently shaken off a 4 month knee injury to return to action for the Potters. His return is seen as a massive boost for a Stoke side who had been overrun in the midfield area since he picked up an injury against Hull City back in October 2016.
The American international has been an integral part of Stoke City’s team since he arrived at the Potteries in July 2012. Cameron quickly made a name for himself as a “jack of all trades” applying his services at right back, centre back and central midfield during his time here.
The past few games have seen Cameron played in a central midfield position alongside fellow engine Joe Allen as Hughes has identified the athleticism of both in the midfield as a massive bonus for the team and players around them.
Geoff Cameron has had a solid return from injury, his composure on the bal has been vital in the last few games. Carrying the ball from defence to attack has been great to see from a fans point of view, Geoff has completed 78% of all take ons since returning, a trait which has been missed for a while in the midfield.
Another trait Cameron has brought to us in the midfield is his ability to intercept the ball in midfield and cut out opposition attacks.
It has been refreshing to see Cameron getting a run in the side. We have seen a big change in our midfield since his return so long may it continue!
