Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has hinted for a Jese debut against Arsenal
Mark Hughes says Stoke City fans will see ‘within minutes’ why he is so excited about bringing Jese Rodriguez to the bet365 stadium.
I can’t wait to see him in action.
He said: “The top and bottom of it is that Jese is an elite player and when you get the opportunity to bring that level of player to your club then you’ve got to try to pursue it to its conclusion.
Hughes added: “We’ve brought him in with the intention of giving him game time, that’s why he’s chosen to come here so hopefully it won’t be long until we see him in action.”
“I think sometimes we underplay what we can offer to players,” he said in an interview for Stoke’s website. “At the end of the day we’re a good, stable club that has things in place – some of those for a considerable time – including myself, the coaching staff and facilities.
“The vast majority of players that come here for any length of time will tell you that they enjoy the experience of what they do on a daily basis and that gets around.
“You don’t get the quality of players we get if top players that have been here in the past are saying bad things about you.
“We’re a good club, we have a lot to offer, top players don’t see the difference in terms of what we give them compared to PSG or the like, so maybe that’s the reason why we’re a viable option.”
Stoke Confirm the signing of former Real Madrid Jese Rodriguez on a season-long loan.
Jese Rodriguez has the tempo, game-changing potential to get fans excited at the bet365 stadium this season fans believe, hopefully putting an end to speculation that the club have been lacking ambition.
Stoke City have been criticised by numerous media sources this month for their lack of investment and ambition during this summer transfer window, having spent just £7 million.
It wasn’t all that long ago that Jese Rodriguez was breaking through at Real Madrid, keeping Isco on the bench.
Jese Rodriguez was a really exciting prospect, he could have been a big star at Real Madrid had it not been for his injury. Fans believe that the signing of Jese is a massive step forward and believe he can score plenty for the club.
Peter Coates has said this morning on Talksport that the club will be making more signings but it will depend on movement from other clubs. He also stated that the club have an eye on 1 or 2 players in before the window closes later on this month, also stating we are always wanting to improve the squad with higher calibre of players but again this is dependent on other clubs.
Stoke fans are wanting Peter Coates to spend money on a top quality wing back as they feel that we need more quality supply for our forwards. It is without doubt fans are wanting world class players at the club to stand any chance finishing higher than 9th in the league.
Stoke now have FIVE Champions League winners at the Bet365 Stadium, putting them one ahead of Premier League champions Chelsea.
Chelsea having four in their ranks, Manchester City have three, Manchester United have two and Liverpool and Arsenal just having one.
Marc Muniesa is set to join Girona in the summer transfer window, on an initial season long loan deal with a view to a permanent deal if Girona stay in La Liga.
Girona are newly promoted to La Liga after gaining promotion in 2nd position behind Levante. Girona are set to have a big end to the transfer window with Muniesa kicking off their week of transfers.
Marc Muniesa is set to leave Stoke and join newly promoted La Liga side Girona. The popular Spaniard has been with Stoke City since July 2013 and is very well loved by the Stoke fanbase.
The ever smiling Spaniard danced his way into the Stoke faithfuls hearts with his constant interaction and shows of appreciation to the fans, as well as his 100% commitment on the pitch. Muniesa became an instant hero when he managed to single handedly win the League Cup 3rd round tie against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light with 2 stunning goals.
When Muniesa joined the club he gave an interview which stated – “I never imagined I would get the chance to play in the Premier League, but when Stoke called me I decided to come here with my family to speak to them. All the people I’ve spoken have shown a lot of confidence in me and I’m really happy that everything has been sorted. It wasn’t a big decision for me to make. I came to England yesterday to meet the people at the club and look around the training ground, which is very impressive”.
During his 1st season at Stoke, Muniesa made his debut in the League Cup in a comfortable 3-1 victory against Walsall. He then made his first start against a strong Everton side in a forgetful 4-0 drubbing at Goodison Park and went on to make 17 appearances that season.
In December 2014, Muniesa really made his mark in Stoke City colours, replacing an injured Marc Wilson in defence, he partnered up with Ryan Shawcross at the back and Stoke instantly recorded back-to-back clean sheets in victories against Everton and West Brom. Unfortunately, injuries hampered Muniesa’s time at Stoke City, every time he hit form and gained his place in the side he picked up an injury which forced him out of the squad.
It was only in August 2015 that Muniesa penned a new 4 year contract with Stoke City, keeping him at the club until 2019. This season turned out to be one to forget for Muniesa as his season was very disrupted through injuries and to top it off, he had his decisive spot kick saved by Mignolet in the thrilling League Cup Semi Final penalty shoot out at Anfield.
After being on the fringes of the squad in 2016–17 Muniesa admitted that he might have to leave Stoke in order to gain regular football. He made his first start against Watford where he helped Stoke earn a 1–0 victory. A week later against Burnley, Muniesa scored his first Premier League goal in a 2–0 win. Muniesa remained on the fringes at Stoke until the end of the 2016–17, making 11 appearances as Stoke finished in 13th position.
Overall, Muniesa made a grand total of 67 appearances for Stoke City, scoring 3 goals in the process. Even though his time to Stoke is coming to an end, the memories he has made for us fans and himself will last forever.
Good luck to you and your family in the future, we will miss you Muni.

Eric Maxim Choup-Moting is set to become Stoke City’s 4th summer signing. The 28 year old Cameroon international is joining on a free transfer from Schalke after turning down their contract offer to become a free agent.
Choupo-Moting has been a target for Stoke City for over a year now, with Mark Hughes being a big admirer of the powerful forward. Choupo-Moting mostly applies his trade from the left wing, but also does his fair share of work up front too.
Choupo-Moting had a very up and down spell at Schalke, with knee injuries interrupting his game time as he was hitting form. He managed 22 goals and 18 assists during his 3 year spell with Schalke, averaging a goal contribution every 2.65 games.
This signing is seen as very shrewd business from Mark Hughes, who has managed to get the dynamic forward on a free transfer leaving the £30m from sales of Arnautovic, Whelan, Walters and Bardsley available in other areas.
Stoke are also weighing up deals for Juventus midfield man Mario Lemina and Salzburg playmaker.
