The signing of the 20 year old winger was regarded as a major coup amongst the footballing world, as the dynamic winger was tracked by major clubs such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

I was sent away to boarding school at the age of eight and quickly joined the other boys in becoming interested in sport– especially those sports that were played at the school, cricket and football.
The Golden One…. not a bad nickname for a footballer.
But this guy was more than just an average footballer. He was the sort of player who got the ball in and around the penalty box and you automatically stood up, your heart beat stronger and you sensed a goal. He was that good.
