What could Tyrese show about the future of the academy

It would be a disaster if Stoke lost Tyrese Campbell

Stoke need to take a long hard look at them selves if they lose Tyrese Campbell, not just because of the lost investment but because of the future outlook for the academy.

Tyrese was brought to the club by Mark Cartwright, Mark sold the club to Tyrese and his dad as a better way of progressing into the first team football rather than at Man City.

The club forked our £1.75mill for his services, which for a lad his age was a big deal.

Stoke now are under threat of losing our £1.75million signing for as little as £400k if he makes the cross border move to Rangers.

Tyrese was offered a new contract prior to Michael O’Neill being appointed manager at Stoke, O’Neill’s appointment hopefully has not come to late, as Tyrese wanted reassurances of game time after been sold Stoke as a club to better his chances of first team football.

Could Kevin Campbell now see Tyrese’s game time as a means to get him sign a new contract or will he see it as I hope it is, in that Michael O’Neill sees Tyrese as his best striker and that’s why he is playing.

Campbell has been offered an improved contract offer in the past week, an offer that’s comparable with what Rangers are offering him. It’s now up to Kevin & Tyrese to decide whether they still think Stoke is the best place for first team football to continue his progression.

If Campbell doesn’t think his prospects of playing the amount of First team football he wants is at Stoke, then how will that look for those currently in the academy set up, and for an future hopes of attracting top quality youngsters

Interesting few weeks for the club

Could Duffy help in Stoke’s pursuit of Thompson

Could Mark Duffy leaving Stoke, help Stoke out in pursuit of Blackpool winger Jordan Thompson

Stoke City have apparently made contact with Blackpool about a January move for wide man Jordan Thompson earlier in December.

The 22-year-old Northern Ireland player, who is out of contract next summer and is well known to Michael O’Neill.

Duffy returning to Sheffield United frees up a wage so Stoke could accommodate Thompson, not only that journalist Alan Nixon is reporting that Blackpool would like to take Mark Duffy on loan for the rest of the season.

Is Duffy replacing Thompson at Blackpool, like Thompson is replacing Duffy at Stoke

Not For Sale

Joe Allen in demand with West Ham ready to bid

According to reports in the press, WEST HAM are interested in signing Stoke midfielder Joe Allen but do want to pay the £15million asking price. West Ham value the welsh man around the £8million mark.

Whatever West Ham value Allen at should be irrelevant as Michael O’Neill has come out saying Joe Allen is not for sale in the January window at any price.

Allen’s play has improved under MoN but would you sell him if a bid north of £10million came in for him?

It’s not just West Ham after Allen

Joe Allen is becoming a wanted man ahead of the January Transfer window

Their has been media reports that West Ham are thinking of bidding up to£15million for the Welsh International

We have heard that West Ham are not the only suitors, West Brom are showing strong interest in Allen we have been told.

Would Stoke sell the high earning Allen to ease the wage bill? Would they sell to either of these sides? Probably yes, Allen I’d assume would jump at the chance to join what looks like a Premier League club next season, A West Brom move would not even need him to move from his home.

Would you except a bid north of £10mill for Joe Allen

Diouf on the move?

According to Izmir-based regional newspaper Yeni Asir, Goztepe are interested in signing Stoke City forward Mame Biram Diouf

Goztepe president Mehmet Sepil has also contacted Diouf’s agent, and Yeni Asir say the Super Lig side ‘will push hard’ to land the 31 year old.

Gozetpe already have one ex Stokie among its ranks, Cameron Jerome joined Gozetpe just over a year ago. Jerome has scored only once this season in his 8 league games.

Would you want Diouf to Leave

Diouf has only just been brought back in from the cold, he is a very popular player among the staff and players. Would letting him go help the morale in camp?
