First League home game is here, but Still no fans. Stoke versus Bristol City

Match Preview:  Stoke Versus Bristol City

Stoke welcome Bristol City to the bet365 Stadium in our first home game of the season. Once again the government sanctions due to Covid 19 means that no fans will be present to watch the game.

Stoke have a half decent record against Bristol City in the 56 previous fixtures, Stoke have won just under half of those games.

Last fixture at the bet365 Stadium

The last fixture against Bristol City at home was Just over 12 months ago. Bristol City triumphed 2-1 in the Championship clash. Stoke had started brightly in the game with Sam Clucas scoring after 4mins, thought things took a turn for the worse when Joe Allen was shown a red card & Tom Edwards scoring an own goal to give Bristol City the lead.

Season so far

Stoke started the league season with a decent draw away to Millwall. That point pales into insignificance if we fail to continue the great performance we managed against a very Strong Wolves side in the Carabao Cup.

Bristol City started their season with a great 2-1 home win against Coventry. Bristol City got off to a great start in that game taking the lead with the first 2minutes. Bristol built on that win with a 4-0 win over Northampton in the Carabao Cup.

Question now for Michael O’Neill is to who he picks to start versus Bristol City. Our supposed first team and our second string affectively both produced brilliant defensive  displays in Stoke’s last two fixtures resulting in Stoke not conceding a goal so far this season.

What do you expect the outcome to be on Sunday?
