Bristol City aim to win just their second home game of the season against Stoke
Stoke travel to Bristol City on Wednesday night for a game that’s being shown Live on Sky Sports.
The Potters have found of late, an ability to win games we just haven’t been at the races at. Saturdays 2-0 win over Peterborough was a casing point. I doubt very few would disagree Peterborough deserved something from the game, but they do say the sign of a side going in the right direction, is a team that can win regardless of performance.
Stoke have a growing injury list with Powell (leg break) Souttar (ACL) & Bursik (thigh) all missing for the foreseeable. Josh Tymon limped off the Peterborough game with a hamstring pull, though scans show no significant damage, he will be assessed prior to kick off. Jordan Thompson is nursing a persistent knee injury and is likely to miss out. Clucas, Sima, Fox & Doughty are getting closer to fitness with the later 2 more likely to have a chance of making the squad.
How have we faired in previous meetings.
Saturday’s fixture will be the 59th meeting between the two sides
Stoke wins 26
Draws 15
Bristol City wins 17
The last meeting
It’s only been 6 months since we last played Bristol City at Ashton Gate, Stoke ran out 2-0 winners with Powell & Fletcher scoring. Despite the scoreline the game was pretty tight with Stoke scoring their only shots on target.
Form (last 4 games)
Stoke
Stoke 3-3 Cardiff
Blackpool 0-1 Stoke
Luton 0-1 Stoke
Stoke 2-0 Peterborough
Bristol City
Bristol City 2-1 Barnsley
Birmingham 3-0 Bristol City
Coventry 3-2 Bristol City
Bristol City 1-1 Blackburn
Bristol City are better travellers than playing at home, they have only won 1 league games at home this season compared too 4 away.
Who’s the threat
Bristol City have Andreas Weimann who is a constant thorn in the Potters side plus Coldplay’s front man giving the singing a miss (thank god)
How could Stoke set up for the game.
Stoke will leave it late to pick the squad with a number of players 50/50 to start. Batth will once again lead the defence having been on the winning side in every game he’s played this season.

What is your score Prediction?
