Michael Oliver in charge for Swans

It’s a good job Garry Monk is no longer in charge at Swansea.

His old foe Michael Oliver has been appointed the referee for Stoke’s clash with the Swans next Monday.

Oliver was the referee who caused uproar in a previous match between the sides when Victor Moses was accused of diving.

Monk escaped punishment despite saying this in the aftermath of Stoke’s 2-1 win, “It’s a clear dive, which is cheating. He’s cheated the ref, and then the ref’s cheated us in terms of giving a decision that never was.”

Swansea fans booed Moses earlier in the season and clearly haven’t forgotten that incident two years ago.

The opening goal of that match was scored by Wilfried Bony. What he’d give for one on Monday…

Oliver’s last match in charge of Stoke came earlier in the season when he gave a controversial penalty during Everton’s 1-0 win.
