Staffs Senior Cup Campaign Begins

Stoke’s U23 side travel to Sporting Khalsa in the Staffordshire Senior Cup on Tuesday.

The Potters have lifted the trophy 13 times, the last being in 1999.

It provides another challenge for Stoke’s youngsters, who have played twice against senior opposition in the Checkatrade Trophy this season.

The first round tie sees Stoke pitched against Sporting Khalsa from the Midland League Premier Division- level nine on the English football pyramid.

Stoke are expected to field a similar side to the one that drew with Brighton on Saturday and kick-off is at 7:45pm at Aspray Arena, Willenhall.

The winner will travel to Hanley Town in the second round, a team that Sporting Khalsa defeated in the FA Cup earlier this season.
