Stoke Bid For Berahino

Berahino Stoke

Stoke have confirmed they have made a club record bid for Saido Berahino.

The West Brom striker has long been a transfer target for Mark Hughes and an offer of £20 million has been made.

Although the offer is close to West Brom’s valuation, they will not sell until they sign a replacement.

That replacement may well be Diafra Sakho, who seems intent on leaving West Ham United as quickly as possible.

Berahino is another man who has made his intentions clear in the past, although he does seem to have calmed his antics down a bit in recent months.

He scored a brace for West Brom in a friendly win at Kidderminster over the weekend, and has been named in the Baggies’ touring party for a tournament in Arnhem.

Whilst he leaves for the Netherlands today, supporters shouldn’t read too much into it. Should transfers and talks progress, then 22 year old Berahino could be back in England like a flash.

That said, this could be a saga that drags on through the next month and beyond.
