Another Big One

Arnatutovic Sunderland

The draw at Old Trafford brought a wave of optimism back to Stoke City supporters.

It is hoped that Joe Allen’s goal is the catalyst to help claw us out of a poor start to the campaign.

But we must not overlook the fact that we are still waiting for our first league win of the season.

Tomorrow’s match against Sunderland presents the perfect opportunity to break our duck, but the visitors will be no pushovers.

Sunderland have been somewhat of a bogey side in recent seasons, with Stoke recording just one win out of the last 10 league meetings.

Last season’s match in Staffordshire saw Jermain Defoe score a stoppage time equaliser and he’s the man Stoke must keep the closest eye on tomorrow.

Once again, supporters have a huge part to play. Just because we drew at Old Trafford doesn’t mean we’ll roll over a Sunderland side also searching for a first league win of the campaign.

However cliché it may be, there is no such thing as an easy match in the Premier League and players and supporters must be at their top levels at the bet365 Stadium. There is no room for complacency.

So let’s back the boys from the first whistle to the last and, hopefully, we’ll all be dancing with delight come 5pm.
