Stoke Shading It
Tonight represents the 11th meeting between Stoke and Swansea in the Premier League.
The ‘SCFC Derby’ has been slightly shaded by Stoke to date, with The Potters winning four of the fixtures to Swansea’s three.
Stoke were unbeaten against Swansea last season- winning away and drawing at home- and will be confident of chalking up another victory tonight.
Having comfortably won the last two matches in the league, Stoke’s tails are up. The Swans, meanwhile, haven’t won since the opening day of the campaign, but manager Bob Bradley did pick up his first point in their last match at home to Watford.
Two men eager for success will be Joe Allen and Wilfried Bony, who enjoyed great spells in South Wales- with Bony scoring three times against Stoke in Swansea colours.
You have to go back to March 2001 for Swansea’s last win in these parts- a 2-1 midweek success was sealed thanks to Jason Price and Kristian O’Leary. James O’Connor scored for Stoke.
