Crawley boss Gabriele Cioffi has said that the Carabao Cup fixture against Stoke will be more difficult than the previous round’s fixture against Premier League side, Norwich.
Cioffi said to Crawley Town media “It’s crazy for anyone to think this is an easier game than Norwich – in fact it will be even more difficult.
“They have a very strong squad and a good manager. They have been a bit unlucky in recent weeks but there is no question they have quality. They will know what to expect and will be well prepared.
“The challenge for our players is can they repeat what they did against Norwich? Can we get some good fortune again which we need when we play any team from a higher division? Can we respond to what I’m sure will be a strong home crowd?”
Who starts tonight v Crawley Town?
With three games in quick succession its hard to believe that Nathan Jones would not change the team from the one that Drew away to Brentford.
Nathan has already alluded to the fact in a recent interview in the Sentinel.
“There will be changes because it’s the nature of the beast,” said the Stoke boss. “Eight games last month and more this month.
“We have to make sure everyone is fresh and with that in mind we will have to make certain changes.

Crawley Town v Stoke City
This is a fixture we don’t want to see too often as Stoke fans though Stoke do have a 100% record against Crawley Town.
One Hundred percent record sounds good but when Stoke have only faced Crawley once in history is not hard to get. That fixture was in 2012 in a FA Cup tie, Stoke City ran out 2-0 winners with Jon Walters and Peter Crouch scoring the goals.
Crawley Town are currently 8th in League Two with 16 points from their first 10 games. Crawley are unbeaten in the last 4 games with Stoke hoping to end that run on Tuesday night.
Crawley Town face Stoke having knocked out Premier League Norwich City in the previous round, so Stoke City should not take this game lightly at all. Crawley are not expected to have the ball to often having posted just 25% possession v Norwich, though they did create 10 shots with that possession.
